These pillow inserts come with all the air removed for easy transporting but fluff quickly once removed from the plastic bag. I had previously purchased sunflower pillow covers and remembered they were 20 inches but forgot they were 12×20 instead of 20×20! However I was able to pack 1 into a pillow cover.

The inserts are great. I have learned through research that the pillow covers should be a size smaller than the insert. Some people like their pillow a little saggier. I prefer that mine are more firm, but not too firm.
