Works great. It has screw holes to mount to deck if you want. Make sure you use lag bolts and hit beams.

This umbrella is amazingly wide and versatile. You can angle the umbrella to follow the sun, so that’s really cool. Do be aware that the base needs to be mounted securely on your deck or it cannot support the extended umbrella without toppling.The support poles and base are metal but the supporting angle pieces are heavy plastic.It’s a clever design and gets pretty compact for inside winter storage.

This arrived in perfect shape, well-packaged. Only the base needed a small amount of assembly. Instruction manual is great! Umbrella is high-quality and has many positions. The handles and gears seem very substantial. I don’t have it at full height for photos because of wind. Wanted a large umbrella to go over dining table. The base seems to hold it very securely, quite a bonus because so many require purchase of a separate base. We are on a high hill, very windy site. I plan to weight down the base with 3 little bags of sand and am sewing an elasticized skirt of outdoor fabric to cover the entire base. Should be quite attractive. Very happy with size and quality for this very fair price. Well manufactured.
