This is EXACTLY what I envisioned when I decided to put together this garden! The arbor was delivered quickly and was easy to put together – I would take away one star because it didn’t come with all of the hex nuts but I’m ridiculously pleased with the look of it so the 3 pieces that I had to buy separately are almost forgotten now (almost).
When putting it together, it must be spaced perfectly for the gate to function properly. It’s top-heavy so there really isn’t a whole lot of room for error. It helps to either cement it into the ground or stake it down because when you use the gate as a functional piece rather than just a decoration, it will tip over if not staked or cemented. The only thing I need for this glorious piece now is a old-fashioned lock to match and maybe some matching fence pieces!

We put this in front of our front door steps.It was hard to find one this wide.Our pup likes to scratch our new front door so it prevents her access to do that.I’ll add a picture later.

I went back and forth on whether to add the photo because I don’t think it does the gate justice. That and we are working on rehabbing the back lawn to set up half the yard as a garden and half as an area where the dogs are excluded.
This gate was, combined with the raised bed gardens (finishing up the 2nd one soon) are our solution to keeping the dogs out of the garden. Thus far, it’s working. It looks fantastic, and it is functional.
If you live in an area with extreme wind you’ll want to put some plants on the inside of the cages to help weigh it down. We’ll eventually add plants to it but our backyard doesn’t get a ton of wind, so there’s no hurry.
Just believe me, it looks much better than the picture shows here. It’s truly gorgeous.

We bought this to use in our wedding next year, and we are actually thinking about buying another one for the front entry way! This was exactly what I was needing, we started growing vines inside. It was easy to assemble, about 8 bolts, and the gates slide in, and they do open and close and lock.
