I was super nervous to cut into my metal downspout, but measured and eyeballed it a dozen times. Then did it! An hour later we got a big rain and my 60 gallon barrel got filled to the brim and started using the overflow hose. I’m on here buying my second diverter kit cuz a friend gave me another rain barrel for another down spout!
Note: This kit does not come with an overflow hose but I highly recommend installing one. Just get some clear tubing from the toilet section of the hardware store. Then drill a hole in the side of the barrel at the top. A PVC coupler in the hole would be helpful but not necessary if you get the fit right.

Easy to use. I have tried other diverter systems- this is nice because there is a minimum of cutting the original gutter.

This was SO EASY to install onto the rain barrel I purchased and into my gutter.I am not necessarily the best at power tools, but they include the drill bits needed to go into the gutter and the rain barrel, so it’s easy to complete installation.I also like the fact that it DOES work with the rain diversion for when the barrel is too full.We’ve had a few days of really strong and fast rains, and the diverter does its job by pushing the water back out of the gutter as usual instead of creating a back flow or overflow on the screen top of the barrel.

These worked well once I went to U-Tube and got visual directions.The boxed directions were useless for my rain barrels.I had to adapt my rain barrel to this diverter.I strongly recommend you go to U-TUBE and explore the multiple types of ways rain barrels can be connected, so you get the type of connection kit you need for your specific downspouts and rain barrels.I have no complaints with WAYFAIR.The rain barrel companies should be more clear about the process of connecting and the further materials that may be needed.
