This is a great starter coop. When my husband built it, he reinforced with lots of wood glue, painted on a couple layers of weather proofing, added a roosting stick above where the ladder starts and (later) added huge wheels so I could comfortably move the coop around the yard. I house 2 chicks and they are super happy. The metallic material lining the tray where the chicks enter, rusted away (lasted 1 year) and I had it relined. The door swells with rain. I have difficulty closinglocking it, but it works fine when it dries out. Other than that, my chicks love their home.

We have 6 baby chicks and 3 guinea keets in this adorable chicken coop. It’s like a little chick hotel!

Easy to construct, clear diagrams and instructions. Important to use a smaller “leader” drill bit to prepare the screw hole, in order to prevent splitting the wood. It’s a well-designed, extremely cute chicken house. We added a higher perch option inside. It’ll be roomy for 4. We think it’s well worth the price

Perfect for a small flock in a protected area. The coop is secure for nighttime with an additional door lock added. We also added a wire floor to the run to preventanimals from digging in. Since we live in the country we also added additional staples to the existing wire in efforts to deter raccoons from pushing through. If you live in town you might not need the extra precautions.

Looks great, set-up not bad if you match up the diagrams with the parts, work in order, and don’t misplace any hardware.Smaller than we pictured, but that makes it easy to move around and park in a safe place at night. We have 6 chickens, and it is do-able.

It is beautiful.I know my chickens will love it.They are little baby chickie babies now, but in a few weeks they can go into the chicken house and run.My husband put it together in a short amount of time and then gave it a coat of weatherproofing.I can’t wait until they start laying eggs in a few months in their provided laying nests.
