This fillable patio umbrella base is designed with 4 separate fillable plates, which can be interlocked with iron pins to form a circular umbrella base when it is in use. They do their job. They hold the umbrella from falling down. If you get a really strong wind umbrellas, probably still gonna fall. But he’s help. You’re a reasonably priced. They are plastic. Just filling with water.

This base is perfect! I live in the desert where the heat is incredible. So naturally I wanted to shade my backyard/ pool as best I could and I really like the idea of the cantilevered umbrella.
Previously, I tried the sandbag approach and it worked well until the sun ravaged the fabric of the weights in a single season. They literally tore apart trying to move it a few inches over. Filling the bags with gravel was also back straining work that took quite awhile.
I decided the 4 pieces base would be a better solution especially when filled with water. Wellz I was very happy I went with this product here. Not only is it plastic so will last longer in our heat, but I wasn’t filling awkward bags with dirt using a wheel barrow and shover.
I filled each piece with water using a hose right at my install location. Each piece comes with a cap and rubber gasket to seal it. There’s also 4 metal hooks to secure each corner to each other for stability.
This base fit right into each space weighing down the four legs of my umbrella. Filler with water alone it’s holding my umbrella up without issue or movement through the day while fully deployed on a windy day.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a weight for their newly acquired cantilevered umbrella.
